Description

Oral Epithalon capsules provide a convenient alternative to injectable Epithalon for telomerase activation and longevity support. Epithalon (Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) developed by the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology under the direction of Vladimir Khavinson, who has published extensively on its anti-aging properties over several decades. The compound is derived from epithalamin, a natural polypeptide extract from the pineal gland, and has been studied in both animal models and human subjects in Russia. Preclinical studies have demonstrated telomere elongation, telomerase activation, and lifespan extension in multiple animal models. Human studies conducted by Khavinson and colleagues reported improvements in melatonin production, circadian rhythm regulation, and various biomarkers of aging. While injectable forms have higher bioavailability, oral Epithalon still provides meaningful benefits through intestinal absorption, making it a convenient option for long-term longevity protocols.

Mechanism of Action

“Oral Epithalon for convenient telomerase activation and longevity support.”

Epithalon activates telomerase (TERT), the enzyme responsible for maintaining telomere length by adding TTAGGG repeat sequences to chromosome ends. Telomere shortening is a fundamental hallmark of cellular aging, and telomerase activation is one of the primary mechanisms by which Epithalon is proposed to extend cellular lifespan. Beyond telomere biology, Epithalon regulates the pineal gland production of melatonin, a pleiotropic hormone with antioxidant, immunomodulatory, and circadian rhythm-regulating properties. Epithalon also modulates gene expression through epigenetic mechanisms, with research suggesting it can reset the expression of genes associated with aging back toward a more youthful pattern. Oral absorption provides systemic distribution for these effects, though at lower concentrations than injectable administration due to partial degradation in the GI tract.
